Luca Alinari - Fantastical Landscapes

«Alinari was born in Florence. Self-taught, he made his debut in 1968 with his first one-man show at the Galleria Inquadrature in Florence. During the 1970s he began an intense research on the free juxtaposition of objects and figures within a fantastical and suspended atmosphere, influenced by Neo-Dada and Pop Art research. During those years he experimented with various pictorial techniques, combining fluorescent colours, decalcomania, collage and photographic transpositions.»

Jennifer Wynne Reeves

Jennifer Wynne Reeves (1963– 2014) was an internationally exhibited American painter. “Reeves was best known and respected by artists who recognized her powerful skills of blending painterly style and manipulating materials in an alarmingly appealing way, avoiding the pitfalls that push abstraction against representation. Reeves was able to mine life’s deeper underlying enigmatic and elusive narratives and emotions by the taming of opposites. Combining color-field, minimalism, narrative painting, process art and expressionism, Reeves rejected low thread count, muted, mock solemnity….“

Dustin Shuler - Pop Art Sculpture

Dustin Shuler (1948 – 2010) was an American pop art sculptor and mixed-media artist, best known for a 1989 piece called Spindle, a 50-foot steel spike with eight cars impaled on it that became emblematic of the city of Berwyn, Illinois, where it was installed for two decades in the parking lot of a popular shopping mall. Most of Shuler’s major works consisted of outdoor art installations, and the majority of his sculptures used elements of consumer-goods detritus.

Nobuo Sekine - Japanese Contemporary Art - Mono Ha Group

Nobuo Sekine ( 1942 –2019) was a Japanese sculptor who resided in both Tokyo, Japan, and Los Angeles, California.
He was one of the key members of Mono-ha, a group of artists who became prominent in the late 1960s and 1970s. The Mono-ha artists explored the encounter between natural and industrial materials, such as stone, steel plates, glass, light bulbs, cotton, sponge, paper, wood, wire, rope, leather, oil, and water, arranging them in mostly unaltered, ephemeral states. Works which come under the Mono-ha umbrella focus as much on the interdependency of the aforementioned elements and the surrounding space as on the materials themselves.

Joan Erbe – Paintings

«Born in Baltimore in 1926, Joan Erbe grew up in Windsor Hills on the West Side. Her father, a coffee salesman, often took her to circus side shows, where they were soon on a first name basis with many of the “freaks”. Her mother always encouraged her to create. As a response to a young Joan’s “I’m bored” sighs, she’d lock Joan in her room and state, “You can’t come out until you do some artwork!”
