Earl Moran (December 8, 1893 – January 17, 1984), born in Belle Plaine, Iowa, was a 20th-century pin-up and glamour artist. Moran's first instruction in art came under the direction of John Stich, an elderly German artist who also taught the great illustrator W.H.D. Koerner. Moran also studied with Walter Biggs at the Chicago Art Institute.Moran later studied at the famed Art Students League in Manhattan, where he took instruction from the muralists Vincent Drumond, Robert Henri, Thomas Fogarty (Norman Rockwell's teacher), and the legendary anatomist George Bridgman. After moving back to Chicago in 1931 and opening a small studio where he specialized in photography and illustration, he sent some paintings of bikini-clad girls to two calendar companies; when both Brown and Bigelow and Thomas D. Murphy Company bought the work, his career was officially launched.

Chen Zhen ( 1955 – 2000) was a Chinese-French conceptual artist known for his large-scale sculptures and installations such as La Danse de la fontaine émergente in Paris. He is recognized as one of the most important Chinese artists since the 1990s.
Born in Shanghai and educated in Shanghai and Paris, Chen suffered from autoimmune hemolytic anemia and died at age 45. He was the brother of Chen Zhu, a vice chairman of the National People's Congress of China.
Although his career was cut short by disease, Chen had achieved international fame by the time he died. His mature work, created in the last decade of his life, explored «synergy» between different cultural and political environments. He is also known for using furniture and antique Chinese materials in his constructions. His large-scale works, exploring the topics of health and homeland, were well received globally. He held more than 30 solo shows in Europe, Asia, and America. After his death, memorial exhibitions were held at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, MoMA PS1 in New York City, as well as in Greece and Italy.Despite his fame abroad, as of 2015 there have been only two solo exhibitions of his works in his native Shanghai. The first was held at the Shanghai Art Museum in 2006, and the second at the Rockbund Art Museum (2015). The latter was curated by Hou Hanru, artistic director of the MAXXI in Rome

Maurice Wyckaert (1923–1996) was a Belgian artist, born in 1923, in the city of Brussels. He is a neo-expressionistic, lyrical abstract painter, gouache designer and printmaker. He was educated at the Academy of Brussels (1940-47 and 1949-50) and in Sint-Joost-ten-Node and the Vrije Atelier of Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe. He debuted with wonderful expressionistic still life, reminiscent of Jean Brusselmans. Much early work dealt with stills of vegetables. Later Wyckaert became interested by William Turner and James Ensor and their ideas of luminism.In 1955 Wyckaert started to lyrically abstract interpret his environment, which contained noticeable influences of Eastern calligraphy. From this, he evolved to a dynamic abstract combination of attractive colors, which harmoniously shape a free interpretation of landscape. Although Wyckaert was already critically acclaimed, by receiving several honors such as the Jules Raeymaekers of the Royal Academy Award, an honorable mention by JPB (1957) and an honorable mention by Sao Paulo Art Biennial (1961), his true breakthrough began at the beginning of the 1970s. Around this time he started experimenting with gouache, printmaking and lithography.

 Arts Sanjay«My official names are Hillary Lusanji 21years of age. I am a male Kenyan citizen. The name Sanjay, I derived it from my last name Lusanji so I came up with the artistic name Sanjay Arts which now most people refer to me as. I began doing art at the age of 7years when I was in primary school.
In 2011 when I joined high school I had to stop doing arts and focus on my studies because arts wasn't being offered in the school. I embarked in drawing in 2015 when I finished high school.
It wasn't easy because, there were some challenges along the way which I had to struggle with in the art industry but  it was all worth it because now I am doing doing commissioned pen and pencil portraits. My aim is to be able to speak to the world through art and maybe someday open an art gallery where each and and every artist will be welcomed to come and showcase their work. Hugo Maurice Julien Claus ( 5 April 1929 – 19 March 2008) was a leading Belgian author who published under his own name as well as various pseudonyms. Claus' literary contributions spanned the genres of drama, the novel, and poetry; he also left a legacy as a painter and film director. He wrote primarily in Dutch, although he also wrote some poetry in English.His death by euthanasia, which is legal in Belgium, led to considerable controversy. As a painter, Claus was a participant in the CoBrA art movement from 1950. He had developed friendships with some of its members, and illustrated a book by Pierre Alechinsky in 1949. He collaborated with key figures in the movement including Karel Appel and Corneille and participated in some exhibitions.

«Raymond Hains was a French Conceptual artist best known for his décollages made from weathered French posters. Opposed to the heroic existentialism championed by Abstract Expressionism, Hains found meaning from vernacular objects and images. “The picture should not be considered as a world in itself, but the world itself should be seen as a picture,” he once said. Born on November 9, 1926 in St-Brieuc, France, he studied sculpture at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, before transitioning to photography after discovering a book entitled Photographie Française 1839-1936 in 1944. It was his apprenticeship to Emmanuel Souguez, and Souguez’s use of photomontage, that inspired the artist to create his first photograms, including LES ROBOTS, ST-BRIEUC (1947). In 1960, he helped to found the Nouveau Réalisme movement, along with the artists Yves Klein, Jacques Villeglé, François Dufrêne, and Jean Tinguely. Over the course of his career, he vacillated between found-object installations, sculpture, décollage, and photography. Hains died on October 28, 2005, in Paris, France. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain in Nice, and The Museum of Modern Art in New York.»

Lika Mutal (12 September 1939 – 7 November 2016) was a Peruvian sculptor whose career began in 1971.Mutal is well known for her hand carved stonework, which focuses on the interconnectedness of the human and non-human world.The idea of duality is an omnipresent theme in Mutal’s life, as she is of European heritage, but she lives part-time in the ancient landscape of Lima, Peru and part-time in the modern architecture of New York City. Duality manifests in her work as she juxtaposes rough, jagged edges with smooth, polished surfaces, as well as with the physical structure of the work, has each of the pieces typically as some element that links two independent pieces. Most impressive about her work- is Mutal’s ability to give a sort of dynamism to the inherently static substance of stone. Mutal’s work is well represented globally, and her practice is based out of Norha Haime Gallery in New York City.

Takeo Yamaguchi was born on November 23, 1902, in Seoul. He studied Western painting at the Tokyo Art School at a time when this specialization was becoming increasingly popular for incoming students. His course of study surveyed all the major European avant-garde movements of the previous two decades, and Cubism, in particular, struck Yamaguchi for its reduction of painting to a flat, monochromatic expanse.

Moshe Gershuni (11 September 1936 – 22 January 2017) was an Israeli painter and sculptor. In his works, particularly in his paintings from the 1980s, he expressed a position different from the norm, commemorating The Holocaust in Israeli art. In addition, he created in his works a connection between bereavement and homoerotic sexuality, in the way he criticized society and Israeli Zionism-nationalism. He was awarded the Israel Prize for Painting for his work in 2003, but in the end it was revoked and he was deprived of receiving the prize.
«At the heart of his paintings are amorphous stains; hand-written phrases are their iconographic counterparts, functioning as directive anchors for the viewers. They link the corporeal and abject with the conceptual in Gershuni’s work. Paintings from the series Hai Cyclamen (1983 – 85) feature bent, undulating flowers that form elliptical loops, flames and infinity symbols, as well as incomplete verses taken from death rituals or passages conveying God’s mercy. The Binding of Isaac, perhaps the most powerful motif in Jewish-Israeli representational language, transmutes onto the canvas into the Yiddish, Eastern European pronunciation of ‘Isaac’. Works from his The Soldiers series (1981) similarly references filicide, though here the sons are no longer defenceless. The paintings’ blood reds also seem to question Israeli occupation almost 15 years after the Six Day War. At the same time, the soldiers, conjured in the paintings by language alone, also become objects of homoerotic desire: inscribing the red stained works with a discursive ‘Shalom Soldier, How Are You?’ or ‘Good Soldier’, Gershuni, who came out in 1980, shows himself as a flirtatious provocateur. Three works from 1998 feature the titular ‘No Father No Mother’, an allusion to Georg Büchner’s famous play about the soldier Woyzeck (1879). Gershuni’s search for identity as a Jewish and an Israeli artist has resulted in an orphan state: he broke away from the post-minimalism of his peers, yet as a painter belonging to a non-iconographic tradition, his tools became stain and written word. ‘I’m an Israeli because I am Jewish,’ Gershuni wrote in 1982, in the context of secular Israeli cultural debates over themes of Jewishness, offering one answer to the show’s opening challenge. Yet his Zionism is far more nuanced than the definition the term assumes in light of recent political developments. In 2003, Gershuni rejected the ‘Israel Prize’, the state’s highest honour, because he refused to shake hands with then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, as he would have had to at the ceremony. No Father No Mother, planned months in advance, opened after a summer of bloodshed in the region. Through Gershuni’s depictions of multiple complexities, this show in Berlin, in the autumn of 2014, is a reminder that the conflict can’t be reflected in simplistic binaries.
